Advocacy

Women Against Abuse believes in the importance of political engagement in order to improve opportunities and resources for victims of domestic violence. In WAA's 2011-2012 Strategic Plan, organization leaders emphasized leadership, safety, community engagement, and sustainable infrastructure as key to future progress.

  • Leadership -- influence public policy and deliver effective programs as a leader in the struggle to end domestic violence
  • Safety -- promote physical, social and emotional safety for survivors of domestic violence
  • Community Engagement -- develop community-based services, partnerships and a coordinated response to domestic violence
  • Sustainable Infrastructure -- sustain high quality core services and promote strategic growth
